  9. Hello, and welcome to the best version of McView ever.  This version
  10. has had a major upgrade.  Yes this is the version.  And these are the
  11. changes in this version:

  13.         Overscan BIG picture files can now be loaded.
  14.  
  15.         Menu re-organised
  16.  
  17.         Printer set-up added.
  18.  
  19. On the disk
  20. -----------

  22. On the disk are three files.  These files must be kept together at all
  23. times.  And these are the files:
  24.  
  25.         MCVIEW11.PRG    The program
  26.         MCVIEW11.TXT    The text file
  27.         MCVIEW11.BIG    Overscan picture (see later)
  28.  
  29. Freeware
  30. --------
  31.  
  32. This program is Freeware.  This means that you can freely distribute
  33. it around the globe, as long as two things are observed:
  34.  
  35.         1. McView nor any of its associated files may not be changed
  36.            in anyway, observing my copyright.
  37.  
  38.         2. The three files remain together at all times.

  41. Loading and installing
  42. ----------------------

  44. To load McView double click on the MCVIEW11.PRG file. To install on a
  45. hard disk, just copy all three files accross to your hard drive.

  47. Using the program
  48. -----------------

  50. When you have loaded the program, then you will be presented with the
  51. menu.  And there are eight options.  Press the approiate key to select
  52. an option:

  54.     <1>    About McView
  55.                 Brings up the About and help boxes respectivley.
  56.  
  57.     <2>    View NEOChrome
  58.                 Press <2> and you will be presented with the
  59.                 fileselector.  Double click on the file of your
  60.                 choice.  This file will be loaded, and guess what?
  61.                 Displayed!  To print the picture, press <P>, or press
  62.                 any other key to return to return to the menu.

  64.     <3>    View Deagas PI1
  65.                 As above, but for Deagas PI1 files.
  66.  
  67.     <4>    View Deagas PI2
  68.                 As above, but for Deagas PI2 files.

  70.     <5>    View Spectrum 512 SPU
  71.                 Press <5> and you can select the SPU file of your
  72.                 choice to load.  To remove this screen you MUST press
  73.                 space.  You may not print these files.
  74.                 SPU files are uncompressed Spectrum 512 files.  To
  75.                 find out how to save in this file format, consult your
  76.                 Spectrum 512 manual.

  78.     <6>    View Overscan BIG
  79.                 More about this file format later.  Select the file
  80.                 you wish to view and wait.  To exit, press Space, and
  81.                 you may not print these pictures.

  83.     <7>    Install Printer
  84.                 Press <7> and you will be presented with a window
  85.                 asking you to select either <N> for a nine pin Epsom
  86.                 compatable printer, or <T> fro a 24 pin Epsom
  87.                 comapatable printer.

  89.     <8>    Leave McView
  90.                 Quit.

  92. Overscan BIG
  93. ------------

  95. I discovered this file format with the Misty extension.  I registered
  96. for Misty and one of the things I got in return, where these routines.
  97. McView can load BIG files, as long as it has been made that way by the
  98. same routine.  When you are viewing your picture, you may experience
  99. some filckering to begin with.  Don't worry, it will soon go.
  100.  
  101. And don't worry if you have no BIG pics, there is one called
  102. MCVIEW11.BIG with the program.  Just load it in.  The file itself is a
  103. GFA Raytrace picture converted from 512 colours to 16, and then
  104. converted to an overscan picture.  I also hope to write an extra bit
  105. to McConvert to allow you to convert picture files.

  107. The routine for viewing the Overscan picture was wriiten by Colin A
  108. Watt, and is copyright 1992 Top Notch.  The file MCVIEW11.BIG came
  109. with GFA Raytrace, from GFA Data Media UK.

  115. me know.  I would love to improve McView even futher.  The long
  116. awaited McPack will be out soon, so McView may be able to view these
  117. files.
